Q: Chinese media have made public the picture of China's first aircraft carrier. Would you please confirm?

A: You may consult competent authorities about particulars. What I want to stress is that China sticks to the path of peaceful development and upholds the defense policy that is defensive in nature. China will always be a major force in safeguarding regional and world peace.

Q: Relevant Chinese department said that a very low level of radiation has been detected in spinach in the northern part of China. Does China think Japan has provided sufficient information to China on this nuclear leakage accident?

A: China and Japan have maintained contact with each other on the nuclear leakage accident following the earthquake and tsunami. Japan has notified China of relevant matters. China is following closely the development of the situation, conducting professional evaluation and keeping in touch with Japan. We hope that Japan will provide China with relevant information in a timely, comprehensive and precise manner.

Q: An Indian army commander claimed recently that China stationed troops in Pakistan-administered Kashmir. The Indian Foreign Ministry has required the Indian Defence Ministry to look into the matter. How does China respond?

A: Relevant remarks are completely groundless and ridiculous.
