The Chinese Embassy processes applications from ACT , NT and SA. Applications from NSW, VIC/TAS. QLD and WA are advised to be forwarded to the Chinese Consulates-General in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth respectively.

 

Procedure:

Documents prepared in Australia for use in the People's Republic of China must be authenticated by the Chinese Consular Posts in Australia as the last step in the established legalization process. In other words, do not submit your document(s) to this or other Chinese Consular Posts for authentication unless they are first notarized and duly authenticated by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade or its representative office in the state/territory of your residence. Document(s) required for authentication:

a. A completed "Application Form for Notarization or Authentication";

b. Copy of your valid passport's data page;

c. Supporting papers as are relevant to the nature of your document(s):

d. Property/Estate Ownership Certificate (original or copy);

e. Copies of Corporate Registration/License;

f. Kinship Certificate.

Apply by mail: You have to provide a pre-paid, self-addressed returning envelop. (This office shall not be responsible for any possible mishandling by the carrier.)

 

Chinese citizens may bring along their Chinese passports and relevant supporting papers to appear in this office and have their document(s) directly notarized. (For details, please refer to the Chinese version of this "Application")

Failure to meet the above requirements may result in delay of the processing or the return of applications to the sender.
