"Group Visas" are issued to "Tourist Groups" organized by qualified travel agencies or "Visitor Groups" sponsored by other appropriate institutions. Participants in each of such groups are required to travel to and from China as a group and the visa shall not be evidenced in their individual passports, which they must keep during their visit in China and shall be examined by border police at the ports of entry and exit.

 

To apply for a group visa, the local organizer is required to provide:

a.    Three sets of identical neatly-typed "List of Tourists Group" or "List of Visitor Group" including all specified particulars  without error or alteration;

b.   One set of copies of the data page(s) of each participant's valid passport, including the page that carries the date of the passport's expiration.

c.    A Letter of Confirmation from a Chinese qualified travel agency with indication of the "Group Code" for a Tourists Group; or an Official Invitation from the Government or other Authorized Institutions of China for a Visitor Group.

 

Fees for Group Visa: A$25 per member of a group (regardless of nationality) payable to the Chinese Embassy, with application, and in the form of cash, money order or bank cheques.

 

Application by mail:

Application may be submitted by mail. But a prepaid and self-addressed return envelop/satchel must be enclosed and this office shall not be responsible for any possible mishandling by the carriers.

 

Visa processing time:

The visa shall be processed, under normal circumstances, in 3 working days and be released on the 4th working day.
