To further enhance the facilitation of personnel exchanges between China and Australia, the Embassy of China in Australia is pleased to inform the removal of appointment requirements for all visa applicants, commence on 20 November 2023. Foreigners who reside in the consular district of the Chinese Embassy, can log into the website of the Chinese Visa Application Service Centre in Canberra, complete the online filling and printing of the visa application form fully and accurately. And then, please bring your valid passport with relevant materials related to the intended entry, and go to the visa centre in Canberra for submitting your application during office hours(9am to 3pm) on each working day without making any appointment in advance.

After the removal of visa appointment requirement, there might be a higher number of applications during peak hours.It is advised that visa applicants to China choose their time reasonably, and off-peak submit relevant application based on their own needs.
