Wang Yi Meets with Secretary-General of the Liberal Democratic Party Toshihiro Nikai of Japan

On December 29, 2017, Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Secretary-General of the Liberal Democratic Party Toshihiro Nikai of Japan, who was in China for the seventh meeting of China-Japan ruling party exchange mechanism, and his delegation.

Wang Yi expressed that the visit paid by the delegation of Japanese ruling parties this time shows their positive attitude towards the relations with China, which is a good thing, and also the result of the efforts of Secretary-General Toshihiro Nikai and all friends. The positive attitude of the two ruling parties should be more embodied in the Japanese government's policy towards China. It is hoped that Mr. Toshihiro Nikai and all members of Japanese Diet to play important roles in this regard.

Toshihiro Nikai noted that the two ruling parties of Japan are willing to enhance exchanges and communication and cement mutual understanding with China through the ruling party exchange mechanism and other channels. Japan is ready to take more practical actions to promote the improvement and development of Japan-China relations.
