Wang Yi Meets with Foreign Minister Fernando Huanacuni Mamani of Bolivia

On January 22, 2018 local time, Foreign Minister Wang Yi met in Santiago with Foreign Minister Fernando Huanacuni Mamani of Bolivia, who was attending the Second Ministerial Meeting of the Forum of China and the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC).

Wang Yi expressed that China and Bolivia are good friends and good partners that enjoy mutual trust. The two countries have maintained close contacts, steadily pushed forward practical cooperation, and achieved fruitful results from firm mutual support in international affairs. China appreciates Bolivia's response to and support for the "Belt and Road" initiative and stands ready to take it as an opportunity to further deepen bilateral cooperation in various fields, so as to push China-Bolivia relations for greater development.

Fernando Huanacuni Mamani expressed that Bolivia firmly supports the "Belt and Road" initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping. It is believed that the initiative is conducive to promoting the common development of various countries and helps them join hands to confront global challenges. Bolivia is willing to intensify high-level exchanges, deepen practical cooperation and enhance people-to-people and cultural exchanges with China, in a bid to make contributions to propelling the cooperation between Latin American and Caribbean countries and China and the development of the China-CELAC Forum.
