BEIJING, Oct. 15 (Xinhua) -- China would maintain high-level exchanges with Iran, said Premier Wen Jiabao Thursday in a meeting with visiting Iranian First Vice President Mohammad Reza Rahimi in Beijing after the eighth prime ministers' meeting of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

    "The Sino-Iran relationship has witnessed rapid development, as the two countries' leaders have had frequent exchanges, and cooperation in trade and energy has widened and deepened," Wen said at the Great Hall of the People.

    BEIJING, Oct. 15 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao met on Thursday with Tajikistani Prime Minister Akil Akilov, vowing to expand the bilateral cooperation.

    Wen said the economic and trade cooperation between the two countries maintained a sound momentum. Both countries should expand the cooperation in agriculture, mine resources and the infrastructure construction.  

China, Kazakhstan pledge to increase energy, infrastructure cooperation

    BEIJING, Oct. 15 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao and Kazakh counterpart Karim Masimov met in Beijing Thursday and the two sides vowed to strengthen cooperation in energy and infrastructure.

    Masimov attended the eighth prime ministers' meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states on Wednesday.

China, Afghanistan vow to promote practical cooperation

    BEIJING, Oct. 15 (Xinhua) -- China will continue to support Afghanistan's reconstruction, and make efforts to expand bilateral cooperation, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao said Thursday.

    Meeting with Afghan Vice President Mohammad Karim Khalili, who attended Wednesday's eighth prime ministers' meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states as guest of host country China, Wen said China would continue to encourage qualified and reputable companies to invest in Afghanistan, and to strengthen bilateral practical cooperation in fields such as trade, economy and agriculture.

China, Pakistan pledge to strengthen ties

    BEIJING, Oct. 15 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao and Pakistani Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani met Thursday in Beijing and pledged further efforts to enhance bilateral ties.

    Wen said the China-Pakistan friendship had weathered the changes on the world stage and the strategic cooperative partnership was maintaining a good momentum.
