Chinese Secretariat of China-Arab States Cooperation Forum Organizes Arab Diplomats to Visit Yunnan Province

Acting Governor of Yunnan Province Li Jiheng meets with the delegation

From October 8 to 12, 2011, the Chinese Secretariat of China-Arab States Cooperation Forum organized more than 20 envoys and diplomats of Arab states in China to visit Yunnan province. Vice Foreign Minister Zhai Jun and Chinese Secretary General of the Forum and Director-General of the Department of West Asian and North African Affairs Chen Xiaodong accompanied the delegation in the visit.

The delegation visits Kunming Changshui International Airport

Acting Governor of Yunnan province Li Jiheng met with the delegation in Kunming. Vice Governor Gu Chaoxi introduced to them Yunnan's economic and social development and exchanges and cooperation with Arab states.

Visiting Dihon Pharmaceuticals Co., Ltd.

The delegation visited Kunming Changshui Airport, Yunnan Flower Demonstration Garden, Dihon Pharmaceuticals, King-Shine Tea Industry Co., Ltd., Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden, Manluan Hui ethnic village, Mandiu Dai ethnic village and Gasa Town Central Primary School to learn about Yunnan's economic and social development achievements, unique ethnic minority culture and China's ethnic and religious policies.

During the stay, Zhai, on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, donated stationeries to Gasa Town Central Primary School and Sudanese Ambassador to China Salih also donated US$1,000.

The Arab envoys and diplomats spoke highly of the visit and said that it left them with a pleasant and deep impression about the harmonious coexistence and happy life of people of all nationalities in Yunnan. They would like to take tangible actions to promote the friendly exchanges and cooperation between Arab states and Yunnan province.
