Vice Foreign Minister Fu Ying Attends the Roundtable Devoted to the 20th Anniversary of Kazakhstan's Independence

On Nov. 23, 2011, the Kazakh Embassy in China held a roundtable devoted to the 20th anniversary of Kazakhstan's independence. Vice Foreign Minister Fu Ying attended and addressed the roundtable. She spoke highly of the achievements made by Kazakhstan in national building and economic development since its independence 20 years ago. She said that the rapid, healthy and stable development of Sino-Kazakh bilateral relations has contributed positively to peace and development of the region and the world at large. In a volatile, complex and changing global environment, both sides should discuss countermeasures and promote the sustained and stable development of bilateral cooperation.

He made a comprehensive introduction to the development achievements made by Kazakhstan over the 20-year period of independence and the concepts guiding its development. There were over 20 delegates attending the roundtable, including Deputy Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Dodov and well-known domestic scholars and experts. They exchanged views on such topics as Sino-Kazakh relations, bilateral cooperation, international and regional situation.
