Vice Foreign Minister Cheng Guoping Meets with the Outgoing Uzbek Ambassador to China Salakhitdinov

On the evening of April 18, 2012, Vice Foreign Minister Cheng Guoping met with the outgoing Uzbek Ambassador to China Salakhitdinov.

Cheng said that over the past four years and more since he served as Uzbek Ambassador to China, Mr. Salakhitdinov has devoted himself to promoting the development of friendly and cooperative partnership between China and Uzbekistan and has made an important contribution, for which China is deeply grateful. Cheng expressed the hope that Ambassador Salakhitdinov could, as always, pay attention to the development of bilateral relations. Cheng also stressed that China attaches great importance to developing relations with Eurasian countries and is willing to work with other countries to push for the comprehensive and further development of the friendly relations between China and Eurasian countries for the benefit of the countries and the people in the region.

Salakhitdinov thanked the Chinese foreign ministry for providing support and help for him during his term as the ambassador to China. He spoke highly of the achievements of bilateral ties in recent years and extended his best wishes for the sustained and healthy development and new achievements in bilateral relations.

The diplomatic envoys of the Eurasian countries said that it is their great honor to be able to contribute to the development of bilateral relations and they are willing to make unremitting efforts to promote the traditional friendly relations and mutually beneficial cooperation with China.
