1. For applicants and relevant personnel intending to do short-term coverage in China Please submit the following documents to the Chinese Embassy or Consulate in X (at Window X). (1) The application for doing news coverage in China signed by the appropriate head of the agency (including name of each applicant, date of arrival and departure, place for news coverage, intended content of the coverage) (2) The invitation from the person(s)/organization(s) to be covered (3) Passport, copy of the career correspondent certificate and contact details of each applicant (4) Visa application forms (5) If any self-use equipment for news coverage is to be carried into China, please also fill in the Equipment Declaration Form 2. For applicants or relevant personnel intending to become resident correspondent in China (1) Any foreign news agency intending to send resident correspondent(s) to China shall, in the first place, set up a permanent office in China. The news agency shall send an application in writing, directly or through the Chinese Embassy or Consulate in X, to the Information Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The application shall be signed by the legal representative of the news agency concerned and shall contain following information and documents: (a) The basic information of the news agency concerned (b) Information regarding the intended permanent office in China including name of the office, intended location, scope of business, number of the personnel, personal (c) details (including name, gender, age, nationality, position and CV) of the person in charge and other personnel (d) A copy of the registration of the said news agency issued by its home country (2) Any foreign news agency that already has a branch/office in China intending to send resident correspondent(s) to China shall send an application in writing, directly or through the Chinese Embassy or Consulate in X, to the Information Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The application shall be signed by an appropriate head of the headquarters of the agency (e.g. Chairman of the Board, President of Vice President, Editor-in-chief or deputy, Head/Deputy Head of the station) and shall contain the following information and documents: (a) The basic information of the news agency concerned (b) The name, gender, age, nationality, position, CV and the place of intended residence of the correspondent(s) to be sent; and (c) The career correspondent certificate of the said correspondent(s) (3) In case that one resident correspondent is to be sent by two or more foreign news agencies, these agencies shall submit separate applications and indicate in their respective applications the correspondent posts held concurrently by the said correspondent. (4) Upon approval of the application, the said correspondent and his/her relatives may apply to the Chinese embassy or consulate in X for J-1 Visa. Non-correspondent foreign staff and their relatives may apply for Z Visa. The relatives shall provide certificate(s) of the relationship when applying. |
