The joint statement of the Australia-UK 2+2 meeting is just recycling and making groundless accusations against China.China’s position on the Taiwan question and issues related to the South China Sea, Xinjiang and Hong Kong are clear and consistent. We deplore and reject Australia and UK’s gross interference in China’s internal affairs, fabrication of lies to smear China and sabotage of the solidarity and mutual trust among regional countries.

China upholds the concept of peaceful development and always believes that the development of relations between state-to-state should be conducive to maintain regional peace and stability, rather than targeting or undermining the interests of any third party. China urges the countries concerned to reflect upon themselves, stop interfering in the internal affairs of other countries, and be a stabilizer for world peace rather than a disrupter.
