Wang Yi: Shorten the Psychological Distance and Enhance Friendly Feelings Between the Two Peoples
2019/11/25

On November 25, 2019 local time, when co-launching the China-Japan high-level consultation mechanism on people-to-people and cultural exchanges and co-chairing the first meeting with Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi in Tokyo, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi said, China and Japan are close neighbors and people-to-people and cultural exchanges between the two countries have been going on for thousands of years. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, the two peoples, taking history as a mirror, made a solemn pledge of "Japan and China No Longer at War" and "Long Lasting Friendship between the Chinese and Japanese Peoples", enabling China-Japan relations to set sail again after going through difficulties. In recent years, with the deepening exchanges and interactions between the two peoples, the Chinese people's understanding of Japan has become more inclusive and diverse. We hope that the Japanese people will have an objective and comprehensive understanding of China, and that the two sides will shorten the psychological distance and enhance friendly feelings through deepening mutual trust.
